Summary / ObjectiveLevel 1 Metal Installers are responsible for being an effective member of a Sheet Metal crew to complete daily production goals.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities- Work with crew to complete all aspects of assigned job including tear‑off of existing gutters and coping cap, installations, and other tasks assigned.
- Receives and carries out instructions.
- Completes job site clean‑up such as trash and debris control.
- Assists in unwrapping of metal components.
- Assists the crew with handling tools as needed.
- Participate in trainings including on‑the‑job training, new‑hire training, and company‑wide mandatory trainings.
- Have a positive attitude, dedicated work ethic and ability to excel in a fast‑paced work environment.
- Be dependable and honest.
- Be organized with an attention to detail.
- Accurately read tape measure.
- Work with various metals.
- Refer all customers and other trades to the foreman.
- Effectively communicate with crew, foreman and supervisor.
- Work overtime, late nights and weekends may be required if necessary.
- Carry out responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Work to increase team efficiency and uphold high safety standards at all times.
- Be self‑motivated and punctual.
- Multi‑task and have excellent follow‑up skills both internally and externally.
- Follow safety guidelines in accordance with Mahaney, a Tecta America Company, LLC Safety Policies.
- Work various hours/schedules, maintaining excellent attendance.
- Willingness and ability to learn new tasks.
- Work with diverse teams with mutual respect.
- Follow instructions.
- Maintain required tools and personal protective equipment needed to perform the job.
- Understand and communicate in English or Spanish.
- Pass pre‑employment physical, agility test and drug screen.
- Background checks may be required for some jobs.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Construction or equivalent background required; architectural sheet metal experience preferred.
- Performed outdoors; weather conditions will be a large factor (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.).
- Required to operate and/or perform work on a scissor/boom lift or similar equipment.
- Exposed to dusty and dirty conditions as well as hazardous materials.
- Work at elevated surface levels and occasionally on steep roofs.
- Use hand and power tools.
- Lift 50 lbs.
- Climb a 40‑plus‑ft ladder.
- Stand, walk and kneel for long periods (12+ hours).
- Work on elevated levels.
- Work in dusty/dirty conditions.
- Work in extreme weather conditions (heat/cold).
This is a full‑time, nonexempt position. Hours of work and start times vary depending on the season. This position is entry level and has no supervisory responsibilities.
