** Founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster. The IRC is on the ground in more than 40 countries, providing emergency relief, relocating refugees and rebuilding lives in the wake of disaster. Through 29 regional offices in cities across the United States, the IRC helps refugees resettle and become self-sufficient.

Our programs are designed to ensure refugees thrive in America--whether ensuring children are enrolled in school, adults become self-reliant through employment or starting businesses, or families receive acute medical care they need to recover from trauma or illness. IRC Wichita has been assisting refuges since 2011. The Wichita office offers a range of services including trauma-informed family support, economic empowerment, education for youth and adults and immigration services.

** SCOPE OF WORK:
** The Caseworker provides trauma-informed services to refugees and other qualified immigrants to support a positive resettlement experience and the achievement of client self-sufficiency. The Caseworker works closely with clients, colleagues, and external parties to develop service and/or self-sufficiency plans to meet individual client needs and preferences utilizing a broad range of financial, medical, social, vocational, and other services and resources in accordance with client eligibility and program requirements.##

** RESPONSIBILITIES:
** Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Coordinate timely pre- and post-arrival services to ensure each client has essentials such as airport pick up upon arrival, initial and permanent housing, food, medical care, access to transportation, and is oriented to their new environment.
* Conduct intake services with clients to assess needs.
* Develop individualized self-sufficiency plans and SMART goals in partnership with each client.
* Provide services that are relevant to the client’s goals, including the distribution of direct financial assistance, applications for public benefits, referrals to medical and mental health services, and housing. Ensure active clients receive at meaningful interactions over the course of the service delivery period in accordance with program requirements.
* Assess and monitor client progress to support their attainment of established goals, address challenges, and to ensure that available resources are utilized.
* Assist with housing set-ups for new arrivals as needed.
* Assist clients in completing initial medical appointments as needed.
