The Opportunity
A forward-thinking and growing accountancy practice based in Wickford is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its established team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or qualified-by-experience accountant looking to take ownership of a varied client portfolio while supporting junior team members and building strong client relationships.
Working closely with the Partners, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting and advisory services to a diverse range of SMEs, sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors.
- Preparing and reviewing year-end statutory accounts.
- Preparing and reviewing corporation tax returns.
- Overseeing VAT returns and bookkeeping assignments.
- Preparing management accounts and financial reports.
- Acting as the main point of contact for client queries.
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Identifying opportunities to add value and provide additional services.
- Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
About You
- ACA, ACCA qualified or qualified by experience.
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation.
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients.
- Confident communicating directly with business owners and stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, Quick Books, and Sage.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
