Due to an internal promotion we have a n exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and knowledgeable Deputy SENDCo to join our team. Are you passionate about improving outcomes for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities? This post is an exciting opportunity for a committed professional who is dedicated to inclusive education and eager to support the strategic development of SEND provision across our Service.

This is not your ordinary Deputy SENDCo role, you will have the ability to shape the lives of some of the most vulnerable children in South Essex and will work in a SEND team committed to the life chances of all our children. With two sites, an outreach programme that covers all South Essex, primary and secondary students on roll - no two days will be the same, and this roll will open doors for your on-going professional development.

The valued and unique contribution of our new Deputy SENDCo will be immediately recognised with flexibility to work away from the school site offered, together with protected time to ensure you can fulfil your commitments and retain a healthy work life balance - we pride ourselves on looking after our people.

Working closely with our hugely experienced SENDCo, you will support the coordination and delivery of high quality SEND practice, ensuring that all pupils with SEND receive the education and support they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

The role requires excellent communication, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, external agencies, families, and most importantly-our children and young people. The role also requires commitment to completing Level 3 safeguarding training.

We welcome applications from qualified teachers with an interest in, or experience of SEND, or individuals currently working towards or willing to undertake the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO).

We offer:

  • Flexible working arrangements
  • A supportive and forward-thinking leadership team
  • A well developed and skilled SEND team comprising of a SENDCo, the new Deputy SENDCo (advertised post), two assistant SENDCos, three HLTAs, a specialist English and maths tutor and a team of LSAs.

  • Teachers pay and conditions
