Support Worker

Salary: £12.65 per hour / £23,023 per annum (Based on 35 hours) |

Working Hours:

35 hours per week | Service:
Nexus Support – Basildon/Wickford
* PLEASE NOTE – A FULL UK DRIVERS LICENCE IS NEEDED.

Nexus Support is a specialist provider working alongside people with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Complex Needs aged 16–45, and their families in South Essex (Basildon, Castle Point, Chelmsford, Southend). Days are spent supporting people to live a life meaningful to them, providing opportunities to grow, develop new skills and explore interests such as swimming, exercising, health & beauty and community activities.

Staff are on hand for chats and advice when times become challenging. You will need to work a minimum of two shifts per week supporting the person at home and in the community. Shift patterns include early, late, sleep in and alternate weekends.

Responsibilities

You will work with young adults who have complex needs, building positive relationships through listening, discussing, and planning goals together. You will help plan daily tasks and assist with practical activities such as cooking, cleaning, running errands, personal care, eating, administering medication, and planning enjoyable days out. You will support people to become more independent wherever possible.
