Healthcare Nursing, Patient Care Technician
Swanwood Partnership are looking to welcome a healthcare assistant to their team.
This position is offered on a part-time basis for
1822 hours per week, with the possibility of increasing hours as the role evolves.
- Carry out base-line observations such as pulse, oximetry, temperature, blood pressure and blood glucose levels, recording findings accurately.
- Wound care, venepuncture, phlebotomy checks and administering of medicines and vaccines.
- Ensure that all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session.
- Ensure that medical supplies are in stock.
- Act as a chaperone where required.
- Assist GP during the performance of minor operations.
- Communicate with patients, relatives, and carers including providing valuable health promotion and education.
- New patient health checks.

Person Specification Qualifications- Have previous HCA experience within a GP or primary care setting (essential)
- Hold a recognised qualification
- Be confident working independently while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrate excellent communication, professionalism and patient centred values
- Be adaptable, reliable, and eager to develop new skills, particularly important in a training practice environment
- Strong clinical skills including venepuncture/phlebotomy.
- Excellent patient-facing communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confidential manner with a compassionate and respectful approach, placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently, determining own workload priorities, as well as working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
