Position: Insurance Surveyor / Project Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION - SURVEYOR / PROJECT MANAGER

Working Week: 8.30am to 5.00pm – Monday to Friday plus additional hours as the business may need from time to time.

(Hybrid working or working from home is not available for this role as the role is office based)

Up to £45,000pa dependent upon experience and qualification – company pension scheme, company car & private medical insurance

Holidays: 20 days per annum, plus bank holidays

Purpose of the role

Providing surveying and contract management on both small and medium sized domestic insurance claims seeing works through from inception to completion with financial budgeting.

Responsibilities
  • Surveying both smaller and medium sized domestic insurance claims and producing a detailed scope of works based on a client schedule of rates to ensure the commercial margin is maintained.
  • Managing the works diary, arranging sub-contract trades ensuring continuity of work for each trade & ensuring the diary is booked at all times at least two weeks in advance.
  • Adhering to clients SLA's in conducting surveys and submitting scopes within those SLA's.
  • Managing claims from start to completion, issuing work orders to trades and producing works programmes.
  • Conducting regular site audits to ensure quality of works and adherence to H&S laws.
  • Checking on works as necessary & dealing with variations, scope queries & policy holder queries.
  • Finalising closing and invoicing and producing all necessary closing paperwork including supporting invoices and photographs etc.
  • Full understanding of CDM Regulations and H&S laws.
  • Procurement of new sub-contract trades as and when required.
Essential knowledge, experience and skills
  • The ideal candidate will have experience working in the domestic insurance industry and be used to compiling schedules using Insurers rates and working to tight SLA's.
  • Proven ability to manage a number of various size claims at any one time, arranging a number of sub-contractors so that claims run continuously through to completion.
  • Excellent customer care and communication skills.
  • Excellent IT skills, adept at diversifying between multiple client platforms including Symbility, Synergy, and a number of Excel based schedules.
  • Organised, methodical and used to working under pressure with the ability to prioritise.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Must possess sound building technology knowledge.
