The Human Resources Generalist provides daily HR support to the facility in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations. This support includes but is not limited to: recruiting, talent management, compliance, employee relations and engagement. This individual is also responsible for the new hire onboarding process, orientation, benefits administration, and employee record keeping.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Recruit qualified candidates for all hourly positions to meet plant production requirements. Maintain tracking and reporting system.
- Build and maintain all hourly and salaried employee files. Communicate with payroll, management, and division as required.
- Keep ADP and Workday up to date and accurate. Also maintain employee timecard and badge systems.
- Manage company relationships with staffing agencies and Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, consistent with organizational goals and ethical practices.
- Utilize best recruiting and retention practices. Reduce plant turnover and overall recruiting costs.
- Assist with administering hourly and salary benefit programs including orientation, registration, record keeping, communication and problem troubleshooting.
- Prioritize and coordinate a wide variety of tasks and activities of the Human Resource department which may include employee investigations, medical issues, FMLA, job evaluations and benefits administration.
- Administer employee engagement and DEI programs including company apparel and SWAG and positive performance recognition program, holiday events and luncheons, engagement events, food trucks, etc.
- Maintain positive employee relations by spending time daily on the shop floor and engaging with and following up with employees questions and/or concerns.
- Perform other duties as are designated by the supervisor.
- Strong knowledge of Human Resources discipline
- Good understanding of legal standards (EEO, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and Worker's Compensation Laws).
- Detail oriented/organized individual with the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Proficient with ERP systems, ADP, HRIS systems (Workday experience a plus), Excel, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, etc.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field.
- MBA in Human Resources a plus.
- SHRM-CP or other HR certification preferred.
