Maintenance Technician (Temp-to-Perm)

Location:

Willoughby Hills, OH
Pay Rate: $32 - $35 per hour

Shift: Monday - Saturday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM (Training on 1st shift for 1-2 weeks)

We are a family-owned processing and packaging company established in 1994, operating out of a 130,000-square-foot facility. We specialize in providing fresh produce packaging for high-end discount chain stores, restaurants, and schools. Our team is dedicated to quality work and maintaining a friendly, inclusive workplace environment.

Position Overview:

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring all production machinery is operating efficiently. This includes troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on equipment such as conveyors, graders, washers, baggers, vacuum packaging, and sealing machines. Additionally, you will maintain inventory of parts and perform some basic building maintenance as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and ensure all machinery is in working condition at the start of each shift.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machinery.
  • Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of parts and ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain composure and efficiency while working in colder environments (approximately 36°F).
  • Follow all GMP codes and adhere to safety protocols.
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of solid maintenance experience.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and work in colder environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with diverse teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, multitasking ability, and a sense of urgency.
  • Familiarity with working in manufacturing or packaging environments preferred.
  • Steel toe boots, hairnets, jackets, and other safety equipment required.
  • Must pass a 10-panel drug screen. Felony cases considered on a case-by-case basis (no violent or sex offenses within the last 3 years).
