The Senior REO Specialist plays a critical role in maximizing recovery on real estate owned (REO) assets by managing the disposition process from acquisition through sale. This position is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of properties, coordinating with internal stakeholders and third‑party vendors, analyzing property valuations, and executing asset disposition strategies that optimize investor returns while minimizing expenses and risk.
Success in this role requires strong analytical abilities, effective vendor and timeline management, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of the mortgage servicing and default environment. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who can effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Essential Responsibilities- Manage the disposition of a portfolio of REO assets throughout the asset lifecycle.
- Review appraisals, broker price opinions (BPOs), and market data to determine asset values and recommend disposition strategies.
- Develop and execute sales strategies that maximize investor recovery while minimizing carrying costs and losses.
- Coordinate and oversee third‑party vendors, including real estate agents, attorneys, preservation companies, and other service providers.
- Monitor asset timelines to ensure timely listing, marketing, sale, and disposition activities.
- Track portfolio performance and ensure the timely receipt and distribution of reports and documentation.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend operational enhancements.
- Maintain compliance with investor guidelines, company policies, and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices within mortgage servicing and REO operations.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2–4 years of experience in REO, mortgage servicing, default servicing, asset management, foreclosure, loss mitigation, or a related field.
- Associate degree or higher.
- Experience working with mortgage servicing platforms and default servicing systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with mortgage servicing or REO‑related platforms such as Pyramid, MSP, Black Knight/LPS, Sagent, or similar systems.
- Ability to analyze property valuations, reports, and financial data.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Physical Requirements
This position operates primarily in a professional office environment with moderate noise levels. Employees will regularly sit for extended periods and use standard office equipment.
