Position Overview
Advanced Nurse Practitioner role at NHS Scotland. Provide urgent on‑the‑day care needs for patients in a care home setting and support the General Practitioners and multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective and person‑centred care.
Responsibilities- Support GPs and the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective and person‑centred care to patients in care homes.
- Support care home residents to live healthy lives.
- Apply the Four Pillars of Advanced Practice (education, mentoring, audit, leadership, and quality improvement).
- Communicate effectively with the wider health and social care team.
- Work autonomously, utilising initiative, clinical judgement and decision‑making to provide a quality service to both patients and GP practices.
- Currently working in an Advanced Practice role.
- Completed MSC (level 11) Advanced Practice studies to PG Dip level or equivalent experience in an advanced practice role.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a broader team.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and exercise clinical judgement and decision‑making.
- Part‑time role – salary pro‑rata to part‑time hours.
- Existing permanent employees must first discuss the opportunity with their substantive line manager; secondment policy applies.
- External NHS Service applicants must secure a secondment agreement from their existing board to apply for this post.
