Senior Nurse

The Role
  • Professional and clinical lead for nursing services, within area of responsibility and as required across NHS Lanarkshire.
  • Expert practitioner providing professional leadership, support and advice within the multi-disciplinary team across NHS Lanarkshire.
  • Carry out all relevant forms of nursing care. Demonstrate procedures to supervise, coach and mentor registered and/or unregistered staff, as well as student nurses.
  • Contribute to development of local, national and informative knowledge of Infection, Prevention and Control through contribution to research and specialist publications.

The working pattern for this role is (Monday
- Thursday (8.30am - 16.30pm) & Friday (08.30am - 16.00pm).

In This Key Role, You Will
  • Provide professional nursing and clinical advice and support to the Director of IPC, Infection, Prevention and Control Lead And Infection Control Doctor.
  • Deputise for the Deputy Chief Nurse IPC when required, providing professional advice and support to the Divisional Nurse Directors and Infection, Prevention and Control Executive Lead on all aspects of the service.
  • Undertake and implement expert clinical nursing leadership and practice by coaching, developing, supporting and advising nursing staff on professional clinical issues within the area of responsibility.
  • Identify and promote the need for Infection, Prevention and Control improvement and prevention.
What You'll Bring
  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration.
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level in Infection prevention and Control.
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of NHS Scotland’s Leadership Qualities framework or equivalent framework.
  • Management knowledge gained through experience and continuous professional development.
