Permanent role working 40 hours per week

Competitive Salary And Benefits We are looking to appoint a Health and Safety officer supporting both our Sec Anim and Refood, Widnes sites and the Company invite applications from suitably qualified existing employees who wish to apply.

Primary Purpose Of

The Role

To support the effective coordination and day-to-day operation of the site’s Health & Safety systems, ensuring compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation and company policies across both Sec Anim and ReFood sites.

The role will provide practical, administrative, and on-site support to management and employees, helping to maintain a safe working environment and promote a positive health and safety culture. The postholder will work towards achieving a NEBOSH qualification as part of their development within the role.

To carry out the role whilst ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times. Ensuring that high levels of productivity, attendance and customer satisfaction are maintained at all times.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

Your duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Support the implementation, coordination, and ongoing maintenance of the site’s Health & Safety management systems.
  • Assist with the recording, investigation, and follow-up of accidents and incidents, escalating findings to site management and the Group Health & Safety Manager UK as required.
  • Support the preparation of RIDDOR reports and other statutory submissions, under guidance where appropriate.
  • Assist with the coordination of health surveillance activities and liaise with managers to arrange appointments.
  • Carry out routine checks on confined space equipment and support the organisation of servicing, calibration, and associated training.
  • Assist in compiling risk assessments where required (e.g. Young Worker, Pregnant Worker, Confined Space).
The Person

You will be suitably qualified (NEBOSH) and ideally have experience in a similar role within a process manufacturing environment.
