Overview
The Production Line Supervisor role in Widnes (WA8) offers a full-time, permanent position with a salary between £35,000 and £40,000, dependent on experience. You will oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring the production runs safely, efficiently, and meets required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities- Lead, support and coordinate the production team on a day‑to‑day basis.
- Plan and allocate work to achieve production targets and priorities.
- Monitor production output, downtime, labour efficiency, waste and quality issues.
- Oversee and support the setup of filling lines, cappers, labellers, conveyors and wipes lines.
- Optimise machine settings to improve reliability, output and line efficiency.
- Support line changeovers, product changeovers and washouts.
- Collaborate with Engineering on day‑to‑day maintenance, adjustments and recurring machine issues.
- Use ERP system to review work orders, stock levels and production requirements.
- Ensure production paperwork, batch records, checks and line documentation are completed accurately.
- Maintain a safe work environment, following site procedures for PPE, chemical handling, spill response, isolation and washout requirements.
- Support investigations into safety incidents, near misses, quality issues and downtime.
- Maintain good housekeeping across production lines, equipment areas and workstations.
- Experience in a production, manufacturing, chemical, FMCG, food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics or household products environment.
- Previous experience leading, supervising or coordinating a production team.
- Practical understanding of production machinery, line set‑up, changeovers and troubleshooting.
- Hands‑on, mechanically minded with basic maintenance and fault‑finding skills.
- Comfortable using ERP, stock control or production systems.
- Good understanding of health and safety, quality standards and accurate production paperwork.
- Strong attention to detail, especially around stock, paperwork, settings and quality.
- Highly safety‑focused and able to communicate clearly with operators, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, Planning and management.
