Role Overview

As a Personal Advisor for our Leaving Care Service, you will be working with a group of young people who come from diverse backgrounds and who have a range of life experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support, accurate guidance and advice on transition planning for young people leaving care.
  • Source appropriate support for accommodation, education and employment opportunities.
  • Deliver emotional, social and practice skills to promote independent living.
  • Collaborate with the Permanence Service and multi‑agencies to achieve the best outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Hold at least a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People or equivalent.
  • Have strong direct experience working with vulnerable children and young people within or leaving the care system.
  • Have a sound understanding of legislation, financial and benefit entitlements for care leavers.
  • Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be driven, motivated and proactive in delivering excellent services and improving outcomes.
  • Be able to work in partnership with multi‑agencies.
  • Be prepared to complete an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
