Role Overview
As a Social Worker, you can be the reason why lives change for the better, helping some of the most vulnerable people gain a brighter future. With previous experience from the NHS or private care, you will join the multidisciplinary team at Gateway Recovery Centre in Widnes, providing care for men and women with complex mental health needs. You will work alongside the team with the aim of improving the mental health and well‑being of service users and helping them develop and maintain healthy relationships.
The Gateway Recovery Centre is a state‑of‑the‑art facility divided into four distinct areas: a male autism service; an assessment and rehabilitation service for women; a specialist inpatient service for older men; and a low‑secure care setting for men with mental illness.
- Manage a complex caseload of social care assessments and risk assessments.
- Facilitate group activities and contribute to ICR meetings to support service users in making viable plans for their future.
- Refer to LADO and local authorities in line with safeguarding and assessments.
- Educate hospital staff about relevant safeguarding matters.
- Complete a full annual social care reassessment within the CPA format.
- Facilitate access to welfare rights, housing, advocacy services and associated support services.
- Participate in 1:1 supervision sessions.
- Report to the Safeguarding Lead, manage internal investigations, and liaise with home authorities during admission and discharge processes.
- A Social Work degree.
- Social Work England registration.
- Experience with in a similar environment.
- Experience working with vulnerable adults.
- Annual base salary of up to £40,579 DoE.
