Overview

With previous experience from the NHS or private care, you can join the multidisciplinary team at Gateway Recovery Centre in Widnes which has a strong emphasis on teamwork, and where you will provide care for men and women with complex mental health needs.

As a Social Worker you will manage a complex caseload and be responsible for social care assessments, risk assessments, facilitate group activities, and will contribute to ICR meetings, supporting service users to make viable plans for their future.

You report to the Safeguarding Lead, and will manage internal investigations and liaise with home authorities for service users during their admission and discharging process, while enjoying access to a range of training opportunities that can see your career grow and you achieve your career aspirations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a complex caseload and be responsible for social care assessments, risk assessments, facilitate group activities, and contribute to ICR meetings, supporting service users to make viable plans for their future.
  • Report to the Safeguarding Lead, manage internal investigations and liaise with home authorities during admission and discharge process.
  • Make referrals to LADO and Local Authority in line with safeguarding and assessments.
  • Educate hospital staff about relevant safeguarding matters.
  • Complete a full annual social care reassessment within the CPA format.
  • Facilitate access to welfare rights, housing, advocacy services and associated support services.
  • Participate in 1:1 supervision.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Social Work degree.
  • Social Work England registration.
  • Experience with in similar environment.
  • Experience working with vulnerable adults.
  • All candidates will be subject to a DBS disclosure.

Bennett’s Lane, Widnes, Warrington, WA8 0GT
. You will be working at the Gateway Recovery Centre, a state-of-the-art facility which provides care for men and women with complex mental health requirements.

Care Setting
  • Male Autism Service for adults with Autism and Asperger’s syndrome.
  • Assessment and rehabilitation for women with complex mental health needs and personality difficulties.
  • Specialist inpatient service for older men with complex mental health and physical health needs.
  • Low secure care setting for men with a mental illness with or without personality disorder/mild LD.
