Transport Clerk (Widnes, Cheshire)

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Transport Clerk to join our well‑established client based in Widnes, Cheshire.

• Afternoon shift: 14:00 – 22:00

• £14.00 per hour

• Coordinate driver start / finish times and ensure all shifts are adequately covered
• Brief and debrief drivers, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately
• Monitor vehicle movements and update systems with live information
• Manage route and load allocation in line with operational requirements
• Ensure compliance with WTD, drivers' hours, and tachograph regulations
• Log trailer numbers, vehicle defects, and report issues to relevant teams
• Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, planners, and management
• Handle PODs, delivery notes, and ensure documentation is stored correctly

• Previous experience in a similar role desirable
• Admin / clerical experience desirable
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to work flexibly

• Previous experience within a transport office or logistics environment

• Induction required prior to first shift
• Full industry‑related training provided with ongoing support throughout
