Overview

Sameday Logistics Coordinator — Widnes. Salary up to £31,000 DOE.

Hours:

Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:30pm.

The Role

Working within a busy operations team, you'll coordinate same day and dedicated transport movements, ensuring customers receive an exceptional service while maximising operational efficiency. You’ll liaise with customers, drivers and suppliers throughout the day, responding quickly to changing priorities and ensuring every delivery is completed safely, efficiently and on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate same day and dedicated transport movements across the UK.
  • Plan and allocate work to drivers and subcontractors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and drivers.
  • Provide regular updates on delivery progress and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Source vehicles through approved haulage partners where required.
  • Monitor vehicle movements and ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Handle customer enquiries professionally and efficiently.
  • Ensure all jobs are accurately recorded and updated within the transport system.
  • Work closely with the wider operations team to deliver excellent service levels.
  • Support continuous improvement within the transport operation.
About You
  • Previous experience within Sameday Logistics or Dedicated Transport Planning is highly desirable.
  • Applications are also welcomed from candidates with experience in Transport Planning, Logistics Coordination, General Haulage or Distribution Operations.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Confident building relationships with both customers and drivers.
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good IT skills and experience using transport management systems.
  • A positive, team-focused attitude with strong problem-solving abilities.
