Joinery & Fit Estimator

We are looking for an experienced Estimator – FF&E, Joinery & Carpentry to join our team in Wigan. Working closely with our design, contracts, procurement and commercial teams, you will be responsible for estimating and pricing FF&E, bespoke joinery and carpentry packages across high-quality residential and hospitality projects. This may include fitted and loose furniture, furniture packs, bespoke joinery, doors, skirtings, architraves, staircases, fixtures, equipment and associated interior packages.

You will play a key role in ensuring our projects are accurately costed, commercially robust and delivered in line with Casana’s standards of quality, design and craftsmanship.

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for FF&E, bespoke joinery and carpentry packages from drawings, schedules, specifications and project information.
• Carry out detailed material and quantity take-offs and develop clear, transparent Bills of Quantities and cost schedules.
• Price loose and fitted furniture, furniture packs, fixtures, equipment, bespoke joinery, doors, skirtings, architraves, staircases and associated works, ensuring full scope coverage.
• Review and interpret FF&E schedules, specifications, technical drawings and construction information, identifying queries, exclusions and potential scope gaps.
• Liaise with internal teams including design, contracts, procurement, commercial and project management to align specifications, budgets and programme requirements.
• Source and evaluate quotations from furniture manufacturers, FF&E suppliers, joinery manufacturers, subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
• Negotiate best value while ensuring quality, design intent and specification requirements are maintained.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and suitable alternatives that protect design intent, quality and performance.
• Assist with tender submissions, client proposals and cost schedules, presenting information in a clear and professional format.
• Maintain and develop pricing databases, rate libraries, supplier information and benchmark data.
• Support project handover to delivery teams, clearly communicating key commercial and technical assumptions, exclusions and risks.
• Work closely with procurement and delivery teams to ensure estimated costs and specifications are effectively carried through into project delivery.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes, templates and reporting.

• Proven experience as an Estimator within FF&E, interiors, joinery, carpentry or a closely related sector.
• Strong working knowledge of FF&E procurement and/or bespoke joinery and carpentry, including materials, manufacturing, installation methods and supplier pricing.
• Strong understanding of furniture, joinery and interior product specifications.
• Excellent Excel skills, with the ability to build and manage detailed cost models.
• Ability to read, interpret and work accurately from technical drawings, FF&E schedules, specifications and construction information.
• Strong numerical ability and commercial awareness with a meticulous approach to detail.
• Ability to identify scope gaps, commercial risks and opportunities within tender information.
• Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
• Confident communicator, able to build effective relationships with colleagues, suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors and clients.
