. Salary:
Grade 6, £14,687 - £16,206 per annum. 22 hours per week, term time working 38 weeks per year. The hours and work pattern can be negotiated and can be flexible. Required for April 2026.
Our Chaplain is an established role in the school since it became a Church of England school in 2012. The Chaplain has a unique role in being part of school life but not a teacher. The Chaplain is an important adult role model for both students and staff. The role supports our Christian ethos and social action agenda within the school and wider community.
Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate worship for students and staff, and write and provide resources for collective worship in small groups, form groups, year groups and school assemblies.
- Run clubs and lead spiritual reflection in school; plan, write and deliver the school’s collective worship programme in collaboration with the Head of Christian Distinctiveness.
- Organise key events of reflection for the whole school community (e.g., Harvest, Advent, Easter, Christmas).
- Act as a leader and facilitator to develop spirituality and the Christian faith within the school and to promote the importance of social action within the wider curriculum.
- Build and maintain relationships with local schools and churches and national organisations reflecting the school’s social action agenda.
- Model the Gospel in word and actions and act as a role model for staff and students.
- Support the school’s safeguarding commitments and contribute to maintaining a safe, welcoming school environment.

Requirements / Qualifications- Committed Christian who will act as a role model for both adults and students.
- Ability to work with senior leadership to plan and deliver worship and spiritual education in a creative and varied way.
- Willingness to lead and facilitate spiritual development and social action within the school and wider community.
