Year 2 Teacher – Orrell Primary School

A welcoming and community-focused primary school in Orrell is seeking a dedicated and experienced Year 2 Teacher to join their team from Easter until the end of the academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Key Stage 1 Teacher who understands the importance of strong foundations in Year 2.

The Role:

You will take full class responsibility for a Year 2 class, delivering engaging, well-structured lessons that encourage confidence and independence. The successful candidate will:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the KS1 National Curriculum
  • Use assessment confidently to inform planning and accelerate progress
  • Create a calm, purposeful and inclusive classroom environment
  • Work collaboratively with parallel staff, support staff and senior leaders
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and the wider school community
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • An Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service
  • Recent experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2
  • Strong knowledge of phonics, early reading and writing development
  • Confidence in supporting pupils of varying abilities, including those with additional needs
  • High expectations for behaviour, progress and presentation
  • A proactive and reflective approach to teaching

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
