Pastoral Support / Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Ince CE Primary and Nursery School is located at Charles Street, Ince, Wigan, WN2 2AL
.

Salary:
Grade 5, £22,970 - £25,296 per annum (£13.90 - £15.31 per hour).

Contract:

37 hours per week (term plus one week), 39 weeks per year, permanent, start 1st September 2026.

We are seeking a pastoral support deputy designated safeguarding lead who embodies the Christian vision and values of our school.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the assessment of students to identify those in need of particular support
  • Co‑ordinate support and intervention strategies and intervention packages, both internal and external, for vulnerable students
  • Manage record systems and processes and be responsible for child protection documentation
  • Carry out Early Help meetings
  • Assist the Pastoral Team with pupil attendance
  • Arrange and lead meetings with parents/carers and external agencies in the support of pupils and their families
  • Conduct home visits with another member of the Pastoral Team
  • Encourage good practice by promoting and championing the child protection policy and procedures
  • Act as the deputy designated safeguarding lead
