Primary Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

As a Primary Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will support teaching and learning across the primary age range by delivering planned lessons, providing targeted interventions, and assisting in the assessment and development of pupils. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will help create a positive, inclusive learning environment that enables all children to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver lessons and supervise whole classes in the absence of the class teacher.

Support the planning, preparation, and delivery of learning activities across the primary curriculum.

Provide targeted interventions and additional support for individuals and small groups.

Monitor, assess, and record pupils' progress, providing feedback to teachers.

Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including those with SEND and English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.

Contribute to the wider life of the school while adhering to safeguarding and school policies.
