The English Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality, personalised English education to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The role aims to ensure that all students, regardless of their starting point, are supported to develop confidence in communication, reading, writing, speaking and listening, functional literacy and, where appropriate, formal English qualifications at GCSE or Functional Skills level.

The post holder will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated and accessible lessons, informed by Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), and will work closely with teaching assistants, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team to remove barriers to learning. Through a trauma-informed, inclusive and student-centred approach, the teacher will foster positive relationships, promote emotional regulation and behaviour for learning, and prepare students to make progress and achieve as far as possible.
