Teacher Assistant/ Paraprofessional, Elementary School

We're currently recruiting for a full-time Year 5 Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in Wigan (WN1) to support working in their Year 5 class. This role is on a long-term basis starting immediately and is a temporary role. The full-time working hours are 08:30am- 15:30pm and you will have a 30-minute lunch break.

Your main responsibilities will include:- Supporting across the Year 5 class, responding to all children's individual needs
- Helping deliver catch‑up sessions to close learning gaps
- Working alongside the class teacher on lesson planning and adapting resources
- Promoting an accepting, inclusive classroom where every student feels they belong
Skills:
- Recent experience working in a school or education setting
- Solid numeracy and literacy skills
- A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands‑on experience
- Comfortable taking direction from the class teacher and working as part of a team

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
