About Us:

Milk Alternative, part of Milk Education, supports young people who need a different route to learning. We're currently looking for experienced 1:1 Tutors to support pupils across Wigan and surrounding areas, to support young people with their education and make meaningful progress.

You'll work 1:1 with pupils who may have SEND, SEMH, EBSA or other learning needs, delivering personalised tuition which will be held in either the pupil's home, community or school setting.

Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned to the pupil's individual needs and learning goals
  • Providing focused support across English, Maths and/or Science
  • Adapting your approach to build confidence, engagement and positive relationships
  • Assessing and monitoring progress against agreed outcomes
  • Providing weekly feedback on pupil engagement and progress
  • Following all safeguarding policies and procedures
Requirements or

Skills:
  • Qualified teacher Status
  • Experience planning and delivering your own lessons in accordance with the UK national curriculum
  • Strong subject knowledge in English, Maths and/or Science
  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Patient, adaptable and confident building positive 1:1 relationships
  • Reliable transport and ability to travel to tuition settings - if required]
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

A recognised teaching qualification is essential for this role.
