An established engineering business in Skelmersdale is looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer to strengthen its design capability. This role would suit a high‑calibre, self‑starting engineer with strong experience in bespoke machinery and equipment design.

You’ll be part of a collaborative design team, responsible for delivering complete mechanical design packages from concept through to manufacture, using Solid Works and recognised engineering standards.

As Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take ownership of mechanical designs, producing accurate 3D models, detailed fabrication drawings and supporting technical documentation. You’ll be involved throughout the full design lifecycle, working closely with internal teams and customers to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions.

• Design and development of new and existing mechanical products and machinery
• Create 3D models, detailed fabrication drawings and assemblies using Solid Works
• Produce bills of materials and supporting technical documentation
• Interpret and translate customer requirements into practical design solutions
• Ensure designs meet industry standards
