We work in partnership with developers, contractors and asset owners across Highways, Utilities, Energy and wider infrastructure, providing strategic commercial leadership from early-stage planning through to final account.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong civil engineering background to join our Commercial team on a permanent basis.
The OpportunityThis is a consultancy-led role offering real influence and client exposure. You will take a leading role in providing commercial advice across a varied portfolio of civil engineering projects — from highways and utilities schemes to major infrastructure works and high-value developments.
This position is about more than cost reporting. It is about shaping procurement strategy, managing risk, driving value, and acting as a trusted advisor to clients.
Key Responsibilities- Delivering strategic cost planning and financial forecasting
- Advising clients on procurement strategy and contract selection (NEC3/NEC4)
- Managing risk, value engineering and cost control processes
- Preparing and managing budgets, cost reports and final accounts
- Undertaking detailed cost analysis, including repair and maintenance works
- Supporting subcontractor engagement and commercial negotiations
- Building strong client relationships and maintaining consultancy standards
We are seeking a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor with proven civil engineering experience and a consultancy mindset.
Highways, utilities or wider infrastructure experience would be highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering and infrastructure projects
- Sound understanding of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts
- Excellent planning and time management skills
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical ability
- Confident problem-solver with practical construction knowledge
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
- Strong communication skills and confidence advising senior stakeholders
- Work on significant civil engineering and infrastructure schemes
- Operate in a professional consultancy environment with genuine client influence
