Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Wigan | Permanent | Manufacturing

£47,900 basic + paid overtime

3-Shift Rotation | Monday-Friday

Shift Pattern

Monday – Thursday

  • 6am-2pm
  • 2pm-10pm
  • 10pm-6am

Friday

  • 6am-12pm
  • 12pm-6pm
  • 6pm-12am
Your role

As part of a multi-skilled engineering team, you'll play a key role in maintaining production performance across the site by:

  • Responding quickly and effectively to machinery breakdowns
  • Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and condition-based tasks
  • Diagnosing electrical faults and minimising downtime
  • Supporting continuous improvement and reliability projects
  • Working closely with production teams to optimise equipment performance
  • Maintaining safe systems of work and HSE compliance
  • Supporting spare parts control and documentation
What we're looking for
  • Electrical engineering background with a time served apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • AC/DC systems
    • Motors and drives
    • Inverters and control panels
    • PLC fault-finding (Allen Bradley preferred)
  • A proactive engineer who enjoys problem-solving and teamwork
