Maintenance Engineer

Overview

We are looking for an electrically biassed Maintenance Engineer to join a long‑standing client based near Wigan. The company is a global manufacturer with over 100 years of operations in the area. This role works a 4‑shift rota to ensure smooth operation of all production equipment, contributing to the efficiency and reliability of the manufacturing process.

• £40,000 – £56,900 (DOE)

• Monday – Friday rotation (8am‑4pm / 6am‑2pm / 10pm‑6am / 2pm‑10pm) – 4‑week rota
• Carry out routine and preventative maintenance on electrical and electromechanical equipment
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults to minimise downtime
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and implement solutions to enhance equipment reliability
• Work safely and in compliance with industry standards and health & safety regulations
• Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams to optimise plant performance

• Recognised engineering qualifications
• Electrical qualification
• Experience with Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs
• Ability to read electrical schematics
• Experience with VSD
• Strong electrical fault‑finding skills

Commutable from Manchester, Wigan, Bolton, Warrington, Skelmersdale, Liverpool, Blackburn and surrounding areas.
