A high volume manufacturer in Wigan is seeking a Maintenance Engineer (mechanical or electrical bias) to minimise plant downtime, assist with projects and implement PPM/Continuous improvement across their brand new, state of the art facility.

Reporting to the newly appointed Senior Engineer, this position offers training and development from day one. This is a new position within a new site providing tonnes of future opportunities.

• Carry out planned and reactive repairs to a variety of equipment and mechanical systems
• Carry out planned maintenance activities
• Minimise downtime and contribute to the achievement of production targets
• Supervise outside contractors/service engineers and tradesmen as required
• Manage small projects such as equipment installation or staff training
• Develop and implement process improvements
• Electrical fault finding/repair on sensors, motors, panels, drives, etc.

• Experience Engineer from a high-volume, continuous production environment
• Ideally possess an electrical qualification and fault-finding experience, although this is not essential
• Happy to work independently or as part of a team; this is a great opportunity to put your own stamp on the department and lead from the front
