Senior Accountant

Practical Business Solutions (NW) Limited is a well-established, mid-sized accountancy and taxation practice with a strong reputation for technical excellence, strategic insight and high standards of client service.

Following the sale of the business to SRP Associates in April 2023, the current Managing Director continues to lead the practice operationally. From 1 May 2026, he will reduce his time commitment to three days per week.

We are now seeking an ambitious, technically strong and commercially minded qualified accountant to join us full-time, with a clear pathway to senior leadership and succession into the operational running of the practice. For the right individual, there is potential for future equity participation.

The successful candidate will:

• Work closely with the Managing Director to transition operational responsibilities
• Support and ultimately lead the practice across accounting, tax and advisory services
• Ensure continued technical excellence and regulatory compliance
• Drive operational development in response to MTD and wider regulatory reform
• Maintain and develop strong client relationships
• Contribute to the strategic direction and long-term growth of the firm

This is a structured succession opportunity within an established and growing practice.

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience
• Eligible and willing to obtain and maintain a Practising Certificate
• Strong background within UK accountancy practice
• Demonstrable expertise in accounts preparation, tax compliance and portfolio management
• Experience reviewing work and overseeing staff
