PositionYour Role & Impact
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical plant and equipment
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime
- Conduct routine inspections and servicing of plant machinery.
- Work closely with the production teams to minimize equipment downtime and improve productivity.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and equipment efficiency.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment as required in line with engineering drawings and specifications
- Work as part of a team and liaise with external contractors when necessary.
- Able to Strip, inspect, repair, and rebuild mechanical assemblies including gearboxes, pumps, motors, conveyors, bearings, and shafts
Required skills and responsibilities
- Proven experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
- A recognised engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent) in mechanical engineering.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Flexibility to work shifts and respond to callouts when required.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Carry out risk assessments and follow safe systems of work (LOTO, permits, RAMS)
- Flexible and adaptable to changing production demands
- Strong attention to detail and quality of work
- Self‑motivated with a proactive approach
- Overtime as required to support business needs
