We're looking for a time-served professional with experience operating Amada Promecam press brakes or similar equipment who is keen to move into a technical office role. You'll receive full training to become a Nesting Programmer, using our specialist in-house software to develop and optimise sheet metal components.
Duties and responsibilities- Setting and operating Amada Promecam press brakes (or similar machinery).
- Reading and interpreting technical and fabrication drawings.
- Producing high-quality sheet metal components to specification.
- Problem-solving manufacturing and production challenges.
- Learning and developing sheet metal nesting and programming skills.
- Working with in-house software to create and optimise sheet metal parts.
- Supporting production efficiency and material utilisation.
- Maintaining high standards of quality, health and safety, and housekeeping.
- Working closely with the Production Manager and wider manufacturing team.
- Undertaking training and development to support your progression into the office-based role.
- Time-served Sheet Metal Worker.
- Significant experience in sheet metal fabrication and press brake operation.
- Experience setting and operating Amada Promecam press brakes or similar.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal manufacturing principles.
- Ability to read and work from engineering and fabrication drawings.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Basic IT skills and confidence using computers.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- CNC Punch experience.
- Previous exposure to CAD, nesting software, or production planning.
- Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- 37 hours per week,
over 4 days, with Friday being a non-working day - 20 days holiday + bank holidays
- A clear pathway into a technical office-based role.
