Social Work Team Manager – Duty Service Team

Looking for an invigorating new challenge in social care? We are seeking an experienced, innovative, and creative Social Work Team Manager to lead one of our dynamic Duty Teams in Wigan. This opportunity offers a competitive hourly rate of £42 with full-time or part-time flexibility, providing a perfect balance between professional fulfilment and personal time. As a pivotal part of our Duty Service Team, you’ll work closely alongside five established Duty Teams to deliver top-tier social services, conducting initial Children and Family assessments with precision and speed.

Here, no two days are the same; you’ll be at the forefront of managing complex cases and ensuring exceptional safeguarding standards are met and maintained.

What you will do
  • Lead and inspire a team of social workers to manage an array of complex and high-risk cases effectively
  • Collaborate with the Duty and Assessment Service to improve and maintain service delivery quality
  • Drive forward excellent practice within your team, ensuring legislative frameworks and safeguarding standards are adhered to
  • Engage actively with children, young people, and families to promote positive outcomes and independence
  • Be responsible for transferring cases at pivotal points to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Work innovatively with your team to find creative solutions for families in need
