Warehouse and Logistics Operatives

The role:

The purpose of the role is to support the effective operation of the logistics and warehouse function located at Leigh Technical Services Centre by accurately picking, packing and preparing orders, conducting deliveries to fire stations and other locations, carrying out stock control activities, and maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, accuracy and customer service.

We are looking for a reliable and organised Central Stores and Logistics Operative to support the effective running of the Central Stores and Logistics function. The role involves picking, packing and preparing orders, receiving and storing goods, supporting stock control, and delivering items safely to fire stations and other locations.

You will help maintain a safe, clean and efficient warehouse environment, complete delivery and stock documentation, use electronic stock systems, and provide a high standard of customer service.

• Picking, packing, loading and preparing customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Receiving, checking, labelling, storing and replenishing stock.
• Updating stock records using relevant systems.
• Delivering and collecting goods safely and professionally from fire stations and other locations.
• Completing delivery documentation and carrying out daily vehicle checks.
• Supporting stock takes, inventory checks and investigating stock discrepancies.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised warehouse environment.
• Following health and safety procedures, including safe manual handling and use of PPE.

The successful candidate will have experience in a warehouse, stores, logistics or supply chain environment, a full UK driving licence, good communication skills, basic IT skills, and a strong commitment to safe working practices.
