Project Intern – AI for Investment

The Temasek China Investment Team is looking for a project intern to join our Beijing or Shanghai office. You will work directly with investment professionals to build AI‑powered tools and workflows that enhance research, information processing, and investment decision‑making across public and private markets.

• Build AI agents, automated pipelines, and RAG systems that accelerate macro research, market monitoring, and event‑driven analysis.
• Develop AI‑powered tools to support deal screening, due diligence, comparable analysis, and portfolio company monitoring.
• Develop and maintain internal dashboards, data tools, and analytical workflows for the investment team.
• Structure and automate the ingestion of multi‑source data (financial, regulatory, alternative) into retrievable formats for AI‑powered workflows.
• Automate research report and investment memo generation using LLM APIs.

• Degree in Computer Science, AI, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Open to undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD candidates; postgraduate or PhD preferred.
• Hands‑on experience building AI applications (LLMs, RAG, agentic systems) through projects, internships, open‑source, or similar.
• Fluent in Mandarin and English.

• Familiarity with vector search, data pipelines, and LLM tooling (e.g., Lang Chain, Llama Index, or similar).
• Experience with prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, or LLM observability.
• Experience with database management, indexing, and information retrieval systems.
• Finance / Economics background or genuine interest in investing.

• A minimum six‑month commitment, at least 4 days a week in person. Extensions may be considered based on business needs.
