Nurse Manager (RN) for Med Surg / Tele About the organization
Join our team of professionals at a regional healthcare system known for its commitment to patient safety and quality. The system is comprised of two acute-care hospital campuses in a Southern California metropolitan area. We offer a challenging and rewarding work environment for our team members.
Essential job duties- Supervise and train nursing staff during shifts to ensure high-quality patient care standards are met.
- Develop and manage the departmental budget, overseeing inventory and resource allocation.
- Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and upper management, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
- Organize and manage staffing schedules and shift rotations.
- Address patient and family complaints and concerns in a professional and calm manner.
- Participate in hiring and conducting performance evaluations for nursing staff.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Assist with other administrative or clinical tasks as needed to support smooth unit operations.
- Experience: Two (2) years of recent, department-specific experience is required. Charge nurse or supervisory experience in a department-specific area is preferred.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field is required. A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field is preferred.
- Licensure and
Certifications:- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience with basic EKG/telemetry interpretation is required OR completion of a Basic EKG class within six months of employment.
- General
Skills:- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and function effectively in a high-volume patient environment.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate strong computer skills.
- Possess a solid understanding of English, grammar, and punctuation.
- Exhibit the ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as proportions, percentages, and volumes.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
