Job Description:

We’re looking for a dependable, mechanically minded person to help keep our 5.5-acre garden center running smoothly. This role focuses on maintenance, repairs and equipment care—the behind-the-scenes work that keeps everything operating day to day.

If you’re handy, can fix or figure out most things and like a mix of indoor and outdoor work, this could be the perfect fit.

• Enjoys working with their hands and tackling a variety of maintenance projects.
• Has experience in general repair, construction or facilities maintenance.
• Can troubleshoot mechanical issues (Bobcat, boiler, tools, small engines, etc.).
• Is comfortable with small electrical, plumbing or carpentry tasks.
• Works independently, safely and efficiently.
• Is reliable, honest and self-motivated.
• Perform maintenance and repairs across retail, greenhouse, warehouse and outdoor areas.
• Conduct mechanical checks (oil, fluids, filters) and coordinate larger repairs as needed.
• Keep the workshop, storage and equipment areas organized and well-maintained.
• Work with the team to prioritize and complete maintenance requests.
• Follow all safety standards and report accidents or hazards immediately.
• Assist with special projects or installations as needed.

• Relevant experience required. The more, the better!
• Uses tools and equipment safely, carefully and responsibly.
• Strong troubleshooting skills; able to work independently and with others.
• Must be 18+, legally permitted to work in the U.S. and hold a valid driver’s license.
• Basic computer skills (e.g., email) for team communication.

• Year-round indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions, including hot summers and cold winters.
• Greenhouse work may occur in temperatures exceeding 100°F.
• Regular physical activity is required, including standing, walking, bending, stooping and reaching for extended periods.
• The role requires lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. (e.g., supplies, tools and equipment).
• Some tasks are performed at varying heights (e.g., using ladders).
• Frequent wet conditions occur due to ponds, aquatic plants and watering.
• Work is performed in shared retail and display areas that require safe and courteous interaction with customers.

Chalily is a 14-year-old, family-run pond and garden business now renovating a 5.5-acre location in Wildwood, MO, set to open in Spring 2026!
