Job Summary
Geisinger's Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking a temporary cardiologist to join our growing practice.
ResponsibilitiesGeisinger Heart & Vascular Institute spans a 31-county service area and has 69 Cardiologists, 12 Cardiothoracic Surgeons, 12 Vascular Surgeons, and 82 Advanced Practitioners. The multidisciplinary team provides care in 5 acute care tertiary/ qua ternary hospitals, 4 community hospitals, numerous outreach locations, and together performs over 10,000 cardiac procedures annually. The Institute features multiple accredited chest pain centers, a nationally recognized regional STEMI PCI network, TAVR program, complex arrhythmia ablation, and a full range of coronary, vascular and structural heart interventions.
Fellows and research:
The Institute serves as an educational venue for five cardiology fellows per year and advanced fourth-year cardiology fellows, an annual Cardiology Symposium, and frequent CME lectures. MyCode Community Health Initiative is a precision medicine project at Geisinger Health System in which patients have consented to donate samples to a system-wide biobank designed to store those samples for wide research uses and for genomic personalized, precision medicine.
Currently, there are more than 110,000 participants in the study.
