Van Transporter/CNA, Meade Street SNC (FT, Days) role at Allied Services.

Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Van Transporter assists nurses in carrying out routine assignments, transporting and preparing residents and equipment and keeping equipment and areas in an orderly, hygienic condition. The Van Transporter must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit.

Under the supervision of the Staffing Efficiency Manager, the Van Transporter assists with the transportation of residents to off-site appointments; provides companionship to residents at the time of off-site appointments as needed. The Van Transporter serves as a Van Driver when necessary.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation Program required.

• Previous experience driving a multi-passenger vehicle preferred.
• Six months experience as a Nurse Aide in a geriatric setting preferred.

• Must be cleared by PA State Police criminal history check.
• Must meet federal requirements for enrollment on the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry upon employment.
• CPR certification required and must be maintained.
• Valid PA driver's license required.
• Good verbal communication skills required for effective, compassionate communication with residents.
• Must adhere to nursing and health information policies and standards and maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Must promote and maintain positive relationships with residents, families and staff.
• Must pass and maintain requirements of Allied Services Driver’s Training Program.
• Must adhere to nursing policies and standards and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Must be willing to rotate to other units as necessary.
