GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse, the Certified Nurse Aide assists nurses in carrying out routine assignments, transporting and preparing residents and equipment, and maintaining hygienic conditions.

The CNA must demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care to patients of various ages on the unit.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation Program.
• Six months experience as a Nurse Aide in a geriatric setting preferred.
• Must be cleared by PA State Police criminal history check.
• Must meet federal requirements for Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry enrollment or complete the required course and exam within 120 days of employment.
• Minimum age of 16 years.
• CPR certification required or must be obtained and maintained.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Adherence to nursing policies and confidentiality standards.
• Willingness to rotate to other units as necessary.
