Job OverviewUnder the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Supervisor, RN Shift is responsible for supervising the Skilled Nursing facility during their shift. This includes overseeing clinical duties, delegating responsibilities, and ensuring quality patient care.
The RN Shift Supervisor must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of residents served—adult through geriatric. They should understand growth and development principles, assess resident data, interpret information to meet residents' needs, and provide care according to Nursing Department policies and procedures.
Supervision and ReportingExercises full supervision; reports to administration. All disciplines report to this position in the absence of administration.
Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (required);
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Minimum of 3 years RN experience in long-term care; 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Valid PA RN license; background clearances (PA State Police, FBI fingerprint if applicable).
- CPR certification (must be maintained).
- Demonstrated administrative, supervisory, and reliability skills.
- Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good management skills.
- Ability to maintain standards of nursing care and adhere to policies.
