Overview
The Geisinger Skilled Nursing Program is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for the Embassy of Wyoming Valley, Wilkes-Barre and Embassy of Scranton, Scranton, PA. This position is as a Geisinger provider in a non-Geisinger facility and requires an experienced advanced practitioner with prior experience in a skilled nursing facility, family medicine, internal medicine or ICU. The advanced practitioner (AP) provides direct (hands-on) care in skilled nursing facilities with a goal to improve quality and prevent unnecessary readmissions to the acute care setting.
Responsibilities- Review reports
- Communicate with SNF staff for patient needs
- Treat patients for acute needs, admissions, discharges, etc.
- Manage extremely complex patients, see every day or at least once a week
- Approximately 12 patients a day
- Length of time per patient and number of patients is per need
Education:
Master’s Degree-Physician Assistant (Required)
Experience
Certification(s) and License(s):
Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body;
Certified Physician Assistant - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Attractive schedule - Monday - Friday 8 am – 4:30 pm
- Rotating call schedule
- No weekend hours
- $15k recruitment incentive
- Continuing Medical Education – 10 days and $3,000 annually
