- Advanced Acute Care Cardiovascular Stroke Unit singer is proud to offer an Inpatient RN hiring incentive up to $26,000 for eligible candidates. Minimum hiring rate is $37.04 per hour with increased rates for experienced individuals and up to $7 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts.
Geisinger is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Advanced Acute Care Cardiovascular Stroke Unit. Hours include 7p-7a with every other weekend and holiday requirements.
Responsibilities- Completes assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards.
- Addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patient and family throughout the continuum of care.
- Formulates, coordinates, and provides plan of care as established in unit standards, including patient and family education, discharge planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Provides direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing interventions and revises the plan of care based on patient response.
- Initiates collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members to proactively resolve patient needs.
- Problem-solves, troubleshoots, and maintains equipment safety.
- Participates in unit-based decision-making regarding evidence-based practice.
- Actively participates as a team member and is accountable for unit and system-specific metrics.
- Participates in patient quality and safety education programs and activities to improve departmental and organizational quality and safety.
- Education:
Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required);
Bachelor’s Degree-Nursing (Preferred). - Licensure:
Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania). - Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS certification required for this unit. - Experience:
Relevant nursing experience; the unit supports growth and professional development. - Specialized skills: NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) education for Stroke Floor; ability to work with cardiac drips including Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Milrinone as part of cardiovascular care.
- ACLS certification is required for all nurses on this unit.
- Cardiac drips administered on this unit include Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Milrinone.
- Stroke Floor staff receive NIHSS stroke scale education and stroke education.
- Geisinger Wyoming Valley holds ANCC Magnet Recognition for nursing practice and quality patient care.
