RN – Nurse Coordinator – Neurosurgery

Role Overview: Provides advanced nursing support as part of an interdisciplinary team to promote preventative care, conduct screenings, and coordinate disease management. Offers clinical support to providers, patients, and families, assisting in diagnosis, treatment, and developing individualized care plans. Manages patient interactions, triages messages, and identifies needs based on clinical guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess healthcare, educational, and psychosocial needs; involve patients and families in treatment planning.
• Facilitate communication among healthcare team members to address barriers and identify interventions.
• Educate patients and families on disease management and care coordination using age-appropriate methods.
• Implement clinical interventions, initiate and adjust therapies, and monitor patient progress.
• Coordinate diagnostic tests, maintain documentation in electronic health records, and ensure data accuracy.
• Participate in professional development, review current literature, and incorporate new strategies into practice.
• Support post-discharge care transitions, assist in program design, and expedite laboratory specimen collection.
• Administer medications, vaccines, IVs, and perform skin testing under provider direction and scope of practice.

Qualifications & Skills: Minimum of 2 years RN experience; graduate from a specialty nursing program (Bachelor’s preferred). Strong clinical, communication, educational, and collaborative skills are essential.
