Senior Systems Technician
Join Vector Security to grow as a Sr. Service Technician who installs complex commercial solutions, including wired and wireless security systems.
SummaryAs a Sr. Systems Technician you will install and service complex commercial security solutions. Responsibilities include troubleshooting system and network issues, basic system integration, mentoring junior technicians, and communicating system functionality to customers.
What You’ll Do- Service & Install Commercial Systems
- Complete installation and/or service of various wired and wireless security systems with minimal supervision.
- Troubleshoot complex systems, resolve network issues, and perform basic system integration.
- Run and fish wires in concealed areas.
- Set up system functionality and answer customer questions.
- Keep job sites clean and organized for safety.
- Apply basic logic to resolve issues.
- Train & Mentor Technicians
- Review work of level 1 technicians and provide corrective training.
- Mentor entry‑level technicians on package systems and less complex systems.
- Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3‑5 years of field experience or equivalent technical education or certification.
- Preferred: 2+ years of life safety and home automation equipment experience.
- Certification/License
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history.
- Preferred: ESA Certified Alarm Technician Level 2 or equivalent.
- Preferred: NICET Fire or Video Level 1.
- Communication
- Professional communication skills with diverse customers to deliver superior service.
- Technical
- Understanding of technical functionality of various systems learned online or via hands‑on instruction.
- Proficient understanding of hardware and panel writing of required manufacturers.
