  • Salary Range: $20 - $25/hour
  • Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5 pm
  • On-call one weekend every 5 weeks

Job Summary

The Property Service Technician – North Region performs work involved in the upkeep and remodeling of rental property or apartments and its surroundings primarily in the Wilkes Barre area. As a Property Service Technician, you will perform a wide range of repair tasks around a facility – from changing locks, replacing broken windows, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, drywall repairs and painting.

When you receive a work order, you complete the project in a timely, cost-effective manner. You also perform routine preventive maintenance to mechanical systems, which may include the HVAC and plumbing systems, to increase their efficiency and longevity. Technicians work with their Lehigh Valley‑based PODs (property management team) to achieve the highest level of customer service, and perform other general duties concerning the property as directed.

Functions
  • Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples include repairing drywall, painting, doors, lights, locks, windows, screens, floors, siding, gutters, and drains.
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical repairs to ensure building maintenance.
  • Operate and perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment, appliances and related systems.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
  • Follow appropriate procedures for each property as listed.
  • Provide excellent customer service to tenants, fellow workers and the general public.
  • Ensure all security measures are taken as appropriate such as shutting off all lights when leaving a unit, locking the doors, and returning keys to the lock box.
  • Report any maintenance issues and cleaning needs to the property support team.
  • Report any tenant issues or safety issues to the Property Management Office.
  • Fix potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
  • Adhere to all company policies.
  • Promptly respond to all incoming phone calls, emails and texts.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Complete all work orders via a smartphone, including accounting for all inventory and material used via a smartphone app.
  • Snow removal as needed, may require overtime work and off‑hour work.

  • Rental properties/apartments – sometimes vacant, sometimes tenant occupied.
  • Apartment complex common areas.
  • Often exposed to weather due to maintenance of interior and exterior of dwellings.
Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods standing and walking, kneeling, crawling, climbing and balancing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times / 100 pounds team lift occasionally.
  • Must be able to carry tools and equipment up and down stairs.
  • Must be able to traverse a variety of properties in a variety of weather.
