Early Childhood Educator (ECE) or Assistant (ECEA)
Sacred Heart Catholic School is seeking certified Early Childhood Educators or ECE Assistants for a part‑time position (8.75 hours per week; 1 day a week 11:15 am – 4:30 pm daycare and Fridays 8:15 am – 12:15 pm preschool) in their Daycare/Preschool Programs, commencing immediately.
The ideal applicant will be responsible for supporting this programming, possess a valid Early Childhood Educator license, a valid First Aid certificate, and be subject to a valid Criminal Record Check using the link and code provided by the school.
The Early Childhood Educator Worker is responsible for keeping with the philosophy of Sacred Heart Catholic School and the Catholic Diocese of Kamloops, as well as for quality client service to foster student and program success. A degree, coursework and experience in this area would be greatly valued.
Responsibilities- Work collaboratively to plan, implement and assess developmentally appropriate activities and experiences.
- Provide responsible and effective supervision of children of varying ages.
- Build trust and positive relationships with students, families, co‑workers and supervisors through effective communication and collaborative efforts.
- Foster a welcoming, safe environment.
- Demonstrate a high degree of initiative, planning and organizational skills.
- Certified Early Childhood Educator license.
- Valid First Aid certificate.
- Valid Criminal Record Check.
- Experience in early childhood education preferred.
- Positive, energetic, and enthusiastic approach to working with children.
- Share in the Catholic faith and actively participate in the life of their parish.
